Products Overview

ClariPhy is unique in being a merchant semiconductor company developing advanced signal processing and analog converter technologies, up to 100G, in all CMOS.  The company represents the perfect partner for a growing Telecom company requiring state-of-the-art EDC and coherent standard product ICs.  Partners with deep IP capabilities are able today to seamlessly engage in co-development of SoCs using rich and extensive IP libraries from ClariPhy. ClariPhy utilizes a MiXed Signal Processing (MXSP) approach to chip development combing ultra high speed analog with complex DSP providing improved tolerance to chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, and non-linear effects.  The all CMOS approach is provides the lowest power consumption, best design scalability, and fastest time-to-market (TTM).

ClariPhy’s products are used in multiple, high volume applications.  Our innovative devices are commonly used either directly within common modules (XFP and MSA) or found populated on various line card topologies.  An XFP module is Small Form Factor Pluggable module supporting 10G and 40G telecom applications with hot-swappable, optical transceiver. The multi source agreement (MSA) modules, often 300-pin, were developed to support TOSA/ROSA and interface compatibility to lower system costs.  An MSA offers the same level of performance as XFP but are mounted on the line card.  These modules typically combine the transmitter and receiver in one cost effective solution for SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, and 10GE supporting the datacenter, metro, regional, and ultra long haul markets.  A line card is a modular printed circuit board that interfaces client telecom or Ethernet traffic to a host or access network,  Line card designers seeking to maximize port density, lower module power consumption, or increase performance via the linear interface often place our device directly on the board.

ClariPhy currently offers 10G products for both telecom and enterprise applications. Whether these devices are used in metro and long haul environments or the datacenter and campus, they offer all the inherent performance advantages of a MLSE-based, single chip CMOS solution. In both markets, ClariPhy’s unique ability to integrate MXSP, high performance analog and DSP blocks on a single CMOS die offer equipment designers unmatched ability to reduce the effects of fiber and optical component impairments and thereby dramatically drive down both CAPEX and OPEX costs.

For enterprise networks and the datacenter, ClariPhy offers quad and dual Universal 10 Gbe PHY. This XAUI and XFI-based Ethernet transceiver features integrated EDC. It is compatible with network equipment line card designs interfacing to SFP+ MSA optical modules. As the only currently available FFE/MLSE-based EDC IC, the CL1040 offers significantly higher link budget margin than any competitive EDC solution currently on the market.  The device meets all serial 10GbE standards including 10GBASE-SR, LR, LRM, ER, ZR and CX1. This universal PHY offers a low density solution for applications ranging from a few meters in the datacenter to up to 80 km in campus networks.
