Clariphy NAMED WINNER Of presitigious 2011 EE TIMES ACE Award for Emerging Technology

ClariPhy is Among Industry’s Elite

(Irvine, Calif., May 23, 2011) ClariPhy Communications Inc., a fabless semiconductor company specializing in high speed communication ICs, today announced it was named the winner in UBM Electronics’ EE Times Seventh Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards for Emerging Technology. ClariPhy’s Digital Processor chip technology was selected as the IEEE Spectrum/EE Times ACE winner based on expectations for this technology making a high impact on society in the coming year.  The Digital Processor chip technology is used extensively on ClariPhy’s 40G and 100G coherent standard product and SoC platforms.

“We are very proud to have won the ACE award for Emerging Technology.  This award reflects the importance of ClariPhy’s Digital Processor technology, which represents a major step forward in increasing network performance, efficiency, and system cost,” said Dr. Paul Voois, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and co-founder of ClariPhy.  “Our Digital Processor technology is poised to significantly enhance end users’ computing, video, and voice experiences by maximizing data rates in optical networks at the lowest power consumption, via our single-chip, advanced CMOS solutions.”

The EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards celebrates the creators of technology who demonstrate leadership and innovation in the global industry and shape the world we live in. ClariPhy won the IEEE Spectrum/EE Times ACE award because of its outstanding efforts in the development of a leading edge digital signal processor (DSP), analog front end (AFE), and interfaces in a single chip CMOS solution.  The technology has the capability to replace or complement 10 gigabit optical fiber systems with 40 and 100 gigabit deployments offering the highest data throughput, low cost, and low power consumption. ClariPhy’s technology can seamlessly support major, high volume communication applications including FTTx, metropolitan, regional, long haul, and ultra-long haul implementations.

“New technologies are essential to successful deployment of next generation networks and ClariPhy’s unique coherent-based Digital Processor architectures can increase performance up to 10x from traditional 10G systems” said Dr. John M. Cioffi, Professor of Electrical Engineering, Stanford University.
