A Scalable, Single Chip Platform to 100G Networks
As a leading developer of highly integrated single chip CMOS ICs for high performance networking applications, ClariPhy offers the industry’s first seamless path from today’s 10 Gb/s networks to tomorrow’s 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s solutions. The company combines its extensive mixed-signal processing (MXSP) expertise with ultra high speed analog functions and complex DSP capabilities in a single scalable CMOS architecture. This innovative technology offers customers in the telecom and enterprise network markets dramatic savings in CAPEX and OPEX by substantially lowering sensitivity to impairments, eliminating the need for costly dispersion compensation equipment (DCE) and extending reach. Moreover, as the first to deliver this groundbreaking technology in an industry standard 40 nm CMOS process, ClariPhy enables developers of next generation 40G and 100G networks unprecedented advantages in compatibility, power savings and, ultimately, faster time-to-market.
To maximize performance in today’ 10 Gb/s networks ClariPhy has developed the first MXSP CMOS ICs to implement a Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimated (MLSE)-based solution. These MLSE solutions use a highly flexible DSP architecture to minimize the effect of impairments, improve OSNR and extend reach by as much as 4X. The ability to use longer hops, eliminate expensive DCE, reduce the number of compensating amplifiers and compensating fiber, and minimize field calls reduces CAPEX costs by up to 50% and OPEX costs by 25%.
ClariPhy uses the same scalable CMOS MXSP architecture to develop Coherent Detection-based solutions for next generation 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s networks. As metro and long-haul networks transition to higher speeds to meet escalating bandwidth demands, ClariPhy will use its embedded advanced DSP capabilities and system architecture to deliver Coherent solutions that will be the benchmark for 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s optical networks. By using the same functional blocks, chip architectureand user friendly interface, ClariPhy will offer compatible platforms that span the performance spectrum from 10 Gb/s to 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s.
