IRVINE, Calif., February 25, 2008 – ClariPhy Communications, Inc., a fabless
semiconductor company specializing in high speed communications ICs, today
announced that Dr. Norm Swenson, ClariPhy’s chief technology officer, has
co-authored a technical paper with Bookham senior engineer Dr. Robert Griffin. The peer-reviewed paper will be presented at
OFC/NFOEC, the premier technical conference on optical communications, to be held
in
The paper, entitled “Combination of InP MZM Transmitter and Monolithic CMOS 8-State MLSE Receiver for Dispersion Tolerant 10 Gb/s Transmission,” will be presented in a conference session on electrical equalization. This paper describes the technical results of combining Bookham’s compact Indium Phosphide modulators and ClariPhy’s MLSE based transceiver and compares this to published performance of linear electro-optic Mach-Zehnder modulators combined with oversampled MLSE. Further, the paper describes the potential of achieving significant reduction in power dissipation and footprint through such technology combination.
The presentation will take place in Room 6F in session OThO2. Session OThO2 takes place on Thursday, February 28 at 1:30 PM. Interested parties can register onsite or by visiting the OFC/NFOEC website at http://www.ofcnfoec.org.
