OCTANe FOUNDATION FOR INNOVATION PRESENTS INAUGURAL
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WIRELESS & COMMUNICATIONS SUMMIT

Dr. Paul Voois, Founder and CEO of ClariPhy to Speak at June 5 Conference

ALISO VIEJO, and IRVINE, Calif., June 1, 2007 — The OCTANe Foundation for Innovation (OFI) will host leading semiconductor and communications companies and researchers from across the state of California to discuss promising technology applications and emerging industry trends on June 5, 2007, at its first annual Southern California Wireless & Communications Summit. Dr. Paul Voois, founder and CEO of ClariPhy Communications will participate on a panel to discuss “Semiconductors in High Speed Data Communications” at 11:00 a.m. The day-long event will take place at the Marriott Newport Beach, with doors opening at 7:30 a.m.

The panel in which Dr. Voois is participating will focus on the key metrics that are driving growth in high speed communications, the latest technologies, competition in the global market, and offshoring.  This venue also provides an opportunity for each panelist to provide an overview of their company and offerings.  ClariPhy recently demonstrated its 10GBASE-LRM integrated circuit (IC) with industry-leading performance at OFC 2007.  Fellow panel members include: Ender Ayanoglu – Professor and Director of UC Irvine Center for Pervasive Communications, Alex Dickinson – CEO, Luxtera, and Raouf Halim – CEO, MindSpeed Technologies.

At this full-day inaugural event, other leading semiconductor companies, start-ups, investors, industry analysts, and research leaders will also meet and discuss the “state-of-the-chip,” promising technology applications and emerging trends in the semiconductor space. Dr. Henry Samueli, the co-founder, chief technology officer and chairman of Broadcom Corp., will deliver the evening keynote address while Dr. Hans Stork, CTO of Texas Instruments, will present the lunch keynote. These noted researchers and industry executives as well as Dr. Gil Amelio, CEO of Jazz Semiconductor and George Scalise, President of the Semiconductor Industry Association, among others, will give their perspectives on the semiconductor market.

“I am pleased with the opportunity to contribute to the Southern California Wireless and Communications Summit,” said Dr. Paul Voois, founder and CEO, ClariPhy Communications. “ClariPhy relocated its headquarters to Orange County a few years ago in order to access the world-class communications semiconductor expertise that resides here, and the lineup that the OCTANe Foundation for Innovation has assembled for this event reflects that expertise. I look forward to sharing ClariPhy’s experiences as a startup in the communications semiconductor space, and to discussing key trends and technologies with other leaders in the industry.”

“We organized this summit to give visibility to the innovations being developed by companies and researchers in Southern California. This area — Orange County in particular — is a hot spot for wireless communications, data network communications, the digital home and other emerging semiconductor technologies,” said Gary Augusta, executive director, OCTANe Foundation for Innovation.
